Want you onion harvest to last longer? Try this: take an old pair of pantyhose, put an onion in the toe and then tie a knot, put in another onion and tie a knot, continue until either the leg is full or you have no more onions. Hang in your basement or someplace fairly cold and dark.
By storing the onions this way, it keep airflow around the onion and keeps them from touching each other so they don’t rot a quickly.
When you are ready use an onion, starting at the toe of the pantyhose, cut the hose just above the onion without cutting the knot.
